Help ESG support Night of Triumph, an inspirational event organized by myTEAM TRIUMPH Wisconsin!
After being injured in Baghdad in 2004 serving our country and receiving a Purple Heart & Bronze Star, Melissa began to train as a Paralympian. In 2008 she competed in Bejing and after that turned to the sport of Paratriathlon. She recently competed in Rio where she was awarded a Bronze Medal!
We can’t wait to hear her stories of triumph this year at our event!
Fresh off the heels of competing in Ironman Wisconsin together, join us on October 29 as we hear the impact that myTEAM TRIUMPH has had on two of our amazing athletes, Chris Engstrom & Eric Johnson!
Chris Engstrom is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay with a double major in Psychology and Human Development. While attending UWGB Chris was the student manager for the Women’s Basketball team and completed the national youth coaching certification program. Currently, she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology with an emphasis in school counseling. Chris is employed at the Green Bay YMCA where she serves as a program counselor for the 21C after-school program. Chris has a passion for sports but especially basketball where she has coached & mentored at numerous basketball camps. She strives to promote resiliency to those she’s mentored.
Chris was first introduced to myTEAM TRIUMPH in late 2012. In 2013 she participated in many races including half marathons, color marathons and triathlons all across Wisconsin.
She enjoys being around competitive athletes and people that are always striving to do more in life. She credits the organization for giving her the confidence to become an author, advance her career, and she just recently completed Ironman Wisconsin. Because of this journey she has adopted a much healthier lifestyle and has now returned to her passion for coaching basketball and being a leader to the youth and athletes in the community.
Eric Johnson lives in De Pere, WI with his wife (Jenna) and son (Warren). A bit of a late entrant into the world of endurance racing, Eric has competed in many local and regional events over the past three years. During the week, he works as a Senior National Account Executive with Imperial Supplies and also moonlights performing in several local bands.
Eric competed in his first event with myTEAM TRIUMPH in 2013, the Packers 5K Run. This event proved transcending and was quickly followed by many others. Being involved with myTEAM TRIUMPH has given Eric a sense of purpose and allowed him to provide an opportunity for others to experience the same joys and sense of accomplishment associated with endurance sports.
